Dharma for Kids

Sundays from 11:00 am - 12:15 pm
In-Person Only

The number one thing I hear from those who begin to practice Dharma and meditation later in life is: “Boy, I wish I had started doing this when I was younger!” Learning to control the mind and develop a meditation practice early in life is immeasurably beneficial.

Each class will include a short meditation, a Buddhist lesson, and activities to help children increase their patience, respect for others and loving kindness.

This class is designed for children in kindergarten and above. Parents are required to sign their child into and out of class and to sit in on the class for their first visit.

A snack is provided during class. Please notify us if your child has any special needs or food allergies.

Resources

The Buddhism for Children series invites children to make a journey of self-discovery and self-improvement to help them realize their full potential. The purpose is not to convert them to Buddhism but simply to show how everyone, Buddhist or non-Buddhist, can learn something from the teachings of Buddha. These books address the reader in a mature fashion, using the life and teachings of Buddha as a basis for exploring many of the issues and concerns that confront children today. And although, these books are written principally for children, anyone who wants a clear explanation of the essence of Buddhism and how it applies to modern living will benefit greatly from reading them.
