Overcoming All Obstacles: A Meditation Retreat on the Heart Sutra
30th Anniversary Event
with Kadam Lucy James
In-Person Only Event
In celebration of the 30th anniversary of KMC Texas, we have invited Kadam Lucy James to provide teachings and guided meditations from the 2024 International Kadampa Summer Festival. Kadam Lucy, the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Center Colorado, is one of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s most senior students and a longtime teacher within the New Kadampa Tradition.
The Heart Sutra, spoken by Buddha Shakyamuni over 2600 years ago, has been a cornerstone of meditation practice across generations. It unveils the perfection of wisdom and the true nature of reality, liberating countless minds.
This sacred text, highly esteemed in Mahayana Buddhism, offers a concise yet profound guide to understanding the essential teachings of emptiness and interdependence.
Under the guidance of Kadam Lucy, an expert meditation teacher with 40 years of experience, we can gain blissful insights into emptiness and interdependence—the heart of reality. Through this wisdom, we will make significant progress on the path to lasting mental freedom and joy.
Kadam Lucy will draw upon extraordinary teachings from Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso's last public appearance in Portugal, October 2013, as well as commentary from the 2024 International Kadampa Summer Festival. This retreat will also include an explanation of The Great Mother, a powerful practice for removing obstacles in our lives.
Join us to learn how to overcome all obstacles by using this special practice and how to apply the wisdom of ultimate truth, or emptiness, in your everyday life.
Everyone Welcome!
This event follows a Friday evening public talk by Kadam Lucy, Learning to Let Go, that you may also be interested in attending.
